Cortisol is the hormone that controls most of the internal and stress factors by increasing blood sugar, blood pressure, pain relieving and neutralizing inflammation. It functions as a mood enhancer, stimulates immune defenses and calms down any excessive activity of the sympathetic nervous system which produces adrenaline.
